THE BALSALL COMMON BUGLE, YOUR COMMUNITY MAGAZINE
A Bit of Background
The Bugle is a quarterly community magazine delivered free to over 4000 homes and businesses in Balsall Common and Berkswell.

It is an independent not-for-profit publication registered at Companies House as a Community Interest Company and is supported by local advertisers.
It is produced by volunteers who do not benefit financially and every penny of revenue over and above production costs such as design, printing and delivery, goes back into the community through donations to organisations in both villages.

The Bugle carries news and views from the residents, businesses and organisations of the villages and is distributed to every household and business by members of Balsall Common Lions and The Berkswell Society.

Residence Association
Fighting the community’s corner
The Balsall Common Village Residents Association (BCVRA) was formed over 30 years ago with the objectives ‘To preserve and promote the amenities of Balsall Common’ and ‘To protect and secure the interests and rights of residents of Balsall Common.’
Those aims have not changed over the years and The Bugle recognises the important role the association plays in the community and has long been associated with its agenda.

The association is non-political and non-sectarian and all residents living in Balsall Common are automatically members - and there is no membership fee.

The BCVRA meets on the first Tuesday of every other month in the committee room at the rear of the Village Hall in Station Road and all residents are invited.
To keep residents informed of local happenings and events the BCVRA issues a monthly email newsletter - The Communicator. For those not on-line a printed copy is made available in the Balsall Common Library.

No charge is made for the service. Confidentiality of e-mail addresses is preserved by use of the ‘blind copy’ facility for transmission.

Currently, the newsletter goes to over 500 households and the association would like to expand the circulation to cover all thosehouseholds in Balsall Common and the surrounding area that are on e-mail.
To receive the Communicator just e-mail feedback@balsallcommonresidents.org.

As with most groups and societies, the BCVRA depends on a few dedicated individuals to keep it going and is always looking for ‘new blood’.

If you would like to contribute to the wellbeing of our community the association would like to hear from you. No experience or specialism is needed, and new committee members are not ‘thrown in at the deep end’.
